Copy a page from your old website into Flourivate
Recreate an existing page from its web address or its code, then tidy it up before you publish.
Moving from Squarespace, Wix, WordPress or another builder? Import lets Flourivate copy an existing page's layout and words, so you start from what you have instead of a blank page.
Before you start
- Time: 5 minutes to import, then 20 to 40 minutes of cleanup per page.
- You'll need: the page's public address (it must open without a login), or its HTML code. Only import pages you own.
- Import into a new, empty draft page, never a live one. Importing replaces what's on the page you have open, and the builder saves as it goes. Create the page first (see Create your website).
- Blog posts have their own import. See Write and publish a blog post.
- Moving contacts and other data too? See Move your data from another platform.
Steps
- Open the new draft page in the builder.
- Click ⋯ (More) > Import. The Import Content window opens. (On a funnel, there's also an Import button at the top of the funnel.)
- Choose an Import Mode:
- Rebuild as components: rebuilds the page as normal Flourivate sections you can edit. It may look less exact. Choose this if you'll keep editing the page.
- Snapshot (visual match): copies the look as closely as possible, but as one big block that's hard to edit.
- Choose the source:
- URL: paste the full address into Page URL, like
https://yourpractice.com/about. - HTML: paste the code into HTML Source.
- URL: paste the full address into Page URL, like
- Decide on Enhance theme with AI. It suggests colors and fonts so the copy looks closer to the original, and it uses AI credits. Untick it if you want the plainest copy.
- Click Import & Rebuild.
Clean up after importing
Imports are a starting point. Go through the page section by section:
- Forms, booking calendars and checkouts don't carry over. Delete the copied ones and add Flourivate blocks instead, so submissions reach your contacts. See Build a form and put it on your website.
- Links and buttons: click each one and point it at your new pages.
- Images: check each one loaded. Re-upload any that are missing to your media library.
- Tracking scripts and widgets: add them through page or website code, not the import. See Page settings: search title, private pages, code and cookie banner.
- Fonts and spacing: set your page fonts, then check Tablet and Mobile views.
- Page title and description: set them in All Page Settings > SEO & AI.
Check it worked
- Every section on the page is editable (with Rebuild as components).
- In a private window after publishing, every button and link goes to a Flourivate page, and forms submit.
If something's off
- The import fails or comes back blank: the page may need a login, or the old site may block copying. Open the old page, view its source, and use the HTML option instead.
- The result is one block you can't edit: you used Snapshot. Import again with Rebuild as components.
- You imported over the wrong page: open ⋯ > Version History and restore the version from before. See Bring back an earlier version of a page.
- It doesn't match exactly: that's expected. Import gets you most of the way; the builder does the rest.
