Use SEO Engine to check your site and plan content
A tour of SEO Engine, plus how to run an audit, find keywords and draft a search-friendly article.
SEO Engine reads your published website, scores its health, and helps you choose topics and draft content. It's optional. The basics in Help your website get found in search matter more, so do those first.
Before you start
- Time: 15 minutes for a first look.
- You'll need: your website live on your own domain.
- Good to know: keyword ideas and AI content use your workspace's AI credits.
- Where: in the sidebar, click SEO (under Marketing). The page is SEO Engine, with the tabs Overview, Content, Technical and Analytics, and Settings and Create Content at the top right.
Step 1: Tell it about your practice
- Click Settings at the top right.
- On General, fill in Default Content Tone, Target Audience and Brand Voice Guidelines. Write these the way you'd describe your ideal client and your voice to a new assistant.
- If you serve a local area, set Local SEO and Service Radius (miles).
- Click Save Changes.
Step 2: Check your site was found
- On Overview, look at the Site Discovery card. It should show your domain, Crawled pages and Last crawl.
- If your domain is missing or wrong, type it in and click Recrawl Site.
- Click View Crawl Results to see each page it found.
Recrawl after you publish new pages or make big changes. It only finds pages that are published and linked from your site.
Step 3: Run a site audit
- On Overview, under Quick Actions, click Site Audit.
- Click Run Full Audit.
- Read the scores: Overall Score, then Performance, SEO, Accessibility and Best Practices.
- Under Issues & Recommendations, start with Critical, then Warnings.
Most fixes happen in your page settings or the page builder. Export CSV downloads the list if you want to work through it.
Step 4: Find keywords
- Under Quick Actions, click Keyword Research.
- Type a seed phrase your clients would search, like "burnout coaching for nurses".
- Click Generate Ideas. Results can include search volume, difficulty and intent.
- Pick a few phrases that match what you offer and work them into your page titles and headings.
Step 5: Draft content with AI
- Click Create Content to open Content Hub, then AI Generate.
- Fill in Topic / Title and Target Keyword, choose a Content Tone (Professional, Conversational, Authoritative, Friendly or Technical) and a Target Word Count.
- Schema Markup and FAQ Section are ticked to start. Leave them on.
- Click Generate Content. The draft appears in Content Hub under Pages.
Nothing is published automatically. Read every draft, make it sound like you, check any claims, and publish it yourself.

Check it worked
- Site Discovery shows a recent Last crawl with no red error.
- Site Audit shows today's date next to Last audit.
If something's off
- A red error under Site Discovery: SEO Engine couldn't reach your home page. Check your domain is connected and the home page is published, then Recrawl Site. If it stays, send us the message text.
- Generate Ideas or Generate Content is greyed out: fill in the required fields first.
- AI tools fail: your workspace may be out of AI credits. Send us a request.
- Analytics is all zeros: search data takes time to build up, and needs real visitors from search.
