Move your data from another platform
Use the Migration Helper to bring contacts, deals and tags across from your old tool, and plan what has to be rebuilt by hand.
When you're done, your contacts, open deals and tags from your old system are in Flourivate, and you have a short list of the automations you'll rebuild.
If you only have a client list in a spreadsheet, you don't need this. Use Import your contacts from a spreadsheet instead.
Before you start
- Time: 20 to 45 minutes, most of it exporting and tidying files.
- You need: CSV exports from your old tool. Most tools have an "Export" option on their contacts or deals page. Export contacts, deals (opportunities) and tags as separate files if you can.
- Limits: each file under 30 MB and up to 10,000 contacts per import. Every row needs at least an email, a phone number or a name.
- Extra details like "Program" or "Intake date" need a custom field first, so they have somewhere to land. See Tags and custom fields, in plain terms.
What comes across, and what doesn't
| Comes across | Rebuild by hand |
|---|---|
| Contacts, with email, phone and custom fields | Automations & Workflows |
| Opportunities (deals) | Triggers |
| Tags | Webhooks |
The Migration Helper shows this same list in a yellow box called Items not imported automatically.
Steps
- Go to Settings > Data Imports (in Data & Records).
- On the Migration Helper card, click Open Migration Helper. (Lovable Import next to it is marked Coming soon.)
- The helper has four tabs: Import Data, Funnel URL, Automations and Review. Start on Import Data.
- Under What are you importing?, choose Contacts, Opportunities or Tags. Do contacts first.
- Click Next. Import Contacts from CSV opens.
- Click Download Template if you want to see the layout Flourivate expects. Then click Click to upload CSV file and choose your file.
- Work through the remaining steps, matching each column in your file to a Flourivate field. The column-matching works the same way as a spreadsheet import. See Import your contacts from a spreadsheet.
- Go back to What are you importing? and repeat for Opportunities, then Tags.
- Use Funnel URL if you want Flourivate to rebuild an existing page from its web address. Check the result carefully before you publish it.
- On Automations, list the automations you had in your old tool. This is your rebuild plan.
- Open Review and check everything before you finish.
Use Skip to pass any step that doesn't apply, and Back to return to one.
Check it worked
- Open Contacts and spot-check five people. Their details and custom fields are filled in.
- Tagged contacts show their tags. Open Opportunities to see your deals in their stages.
If something's off
- The file is rejected: check it's a CSV (not .xlsx), under 30 MB, under 10,000 rows, and every row has an email, phone or name.
- A column didn't come across: there was no field to match it to. Create the custom field and import that column again.
- You're looking for a list of past imports: Data Imports doesn't keep one. Check Contacts directly.
- Your old automations: rebuild them in Workflows. Start with Build your first workflow.
- A big or messy migration: send us a request before you start. We'd rather help plan it than clean up after. See Get help.
