Add popups, menu links, social icons and download buttons

Last reviewed October 21, 2026

Show a popup at the right moment, edit your site menu, link your social profiles, and give visitors a file from a button.

Four small things visitors notice: a timely popup, a menu that works, social icons that go to the right profiles, and a free guide that downloads when they click.

Before you start

  • Time: 5 to 10 minutes each.
  • You'll need: a page open in the builder. For a download button, your file uploaded somewhere with a public link (your media library works).

Add a popup

Popups aren't in the block list. They have their own panel.

  1. In the builder, open Page Popups: click the popup icon (a mouse pointer) in the top bar, or ⋯ > Popups.
  2. To make a new one, click New Popup. Enter a Popup Name, choose a Trigger Type, and click Create & Edit.
  3. Build the popup's content like a small page. A form or a single button works best.
  4. Back in Page Popups, find the popup in All Popups and click Attach to add it to this page.
  5. Check the popup's card shows Published, not Draft. Its trigger and position show on the card too, for example Time Delay • Center.

Popups appear by trigger: after a time delay, on scroll, when a visitor is about to leave (exit intent), or when they click a button. For a click popup, set the button's action to Open popup.

One popup per page

A single, well-timed popup (for example, your free guide after 30 seconds) helps. Several popups, or one that appears the instant someone arrives, drive visitors away.

Your header menu is a group of ordinary text and button elements, not a separate menu editor.

  1. Click the link you want to change in the header.
  2. Edit its text on the page, and change where it goes in its link setting.
  3. To add a link, duplicate an existing one (copy icon on its toolbar) and change it.
  4. If you use the same header on several pages, make it a linked section so you edit it once. See Reuse sections across pages.

Careful: clicking the area around the links selects the whole group, and delete on that toolbar removes the entire menu. Use undo if that happens.

On a funnel page meant to sell or sign people up, consider leaving the menu off so there's one clear next step.

Set where a button goes

Click the button and open its link setting. The options are Go to URL, Page (another page on your site), Open popup, Scroll to Element, Call, Email and Submit Form.

Add social icons

  1. Click +, search social, and add Social Links (under Interactive). Social Share is a different block, for sharing a page.
  2. On General, under Social Share > Platforms, tick the networks you use.
  3. Under Links > Platform Links, paste the full profile address for each, starting with https://. Use Add Social Link for another, or x to remove one.
  4. Under Design, pick a style, alignment and size.

New blocks come with sample platforms. Remove any you don't actively use.

Offer a file download from a button

  1. Upload your PDF or worksheet to your media library and copy its link. Open the link in a private window to make sure it opens without a sign-in.
  2. In the builder, click the button.
  3. In its link setting, choose Go to URL and paste the file's link.
  4. Change the button text so people know what they'll get, like "Download the guide (PDF)".

Images can do this too: set Image Actions to Download File.

Want their email first?

Buttons can't gate a file behind a form. Instead, put a form on the page and send the file in your confirmation email or on the thank-you page. See Build a form and put it on your website.

Check it worked

  • On the live page in a private window, the popup appears when you expect, each menu link and social icon opens the right place, and the file downloads.
  • Links don't open while you're in the builder. That's normal. Test on the live page.

If something's off

  • The popup never shows: check it's Published, attached to this page, and that the page itself is published.
  • The download asks visitors to sign in: the file isn't public where it's stored. Use your media library link instead.
  • A social icon goes to the wrong profile: check for a full https:// address, not @yourname.
