Help your website get found in search

Last reviewed October 21, 2026

The handful of things that actually help a coaching practice show up in Google, and where to set each one in Flourivate.

Search engine optimization (SEO) sounds technical, but for a practice it comes down to clear pages about what you do, for whom, and where. Do the checklist below for each main page.

Before you start

  • Time: 10 minutes per page.
  • You'll need: your own domain connected and your pages published. Search engines can't list a draft. See Connect your website domain.
  • Be patient: new pages can take a few weeks to show up in Google.

What search engines look for

  1. One clear topic per page. Your coaching page is about coaching; your workshop page is about the workshop.
  2. The words your clients use. "Career coach for new managers in Denver" beats "Transformational leadership journeys".
  3. A good title and description. These are what people see in the results.
  4. Pages that load fast and work on phones.
  5. Links between your own pages and from other trusted sites.

The checklist for each page

Do this Where
Write a title under 60 characters, with what you do first Builder ⋯ > All Page Settings > SEO & AI > Title
Write a one or two sentence description of who it's for and what they get Same panel, below the title
Use a short, readable address, like /career-coaching Same panel, URL path
Mark your main heading as Headline and section headings as Sub Headline Click the text > General > Text Role
Use one Headline per page Same
Describe every image Image block > Alt Text (For SEO!)
Keep images small enough to load quickly See Upload and organize files in your media library
Check the page on a phone Builder device button > Mobile
Link to your other pages from the body text, not only the menu Button or text links

Step-by-step help for the page settings is in Page settings: search title, private pages, code and cookie banner.

Paid booking pages, client resources and thank-you pages shouldn't appear in Google. Tick Hide from search engines on the page's Tracking tab, and leave them out of your menu.

Local practices

If you see clients in person, say where on your pages: your city, neighborhood or the areas you serve. Keep your business name, address and phone the same everywhere they appear online, including your Google Business Profile.

Flourivate includes SEO Engine, which crawls your site, scores it, and suggests keywords and content. See Use SEO Engine to check your site and plan content.

Check it worked

  • Search Google for site:yourdomain.com. Your published pages start appearing over the following weeks.
  • Each page's Preview Snippet in SEO & AI shows the title and description you wrote.

If something's off

  • A page never shows up: make sure it's Published, not hidden from search engines, and on your own domain.
  • Google shows an old title: search engines refresh on their own schedule. Give it a couple of weeks after you change it.
  • The wrong page shows for your name: make your home page title include your name and what you do.
