Turn on automatic payment receipts

Last reviewed October 21, 2026

Send every client a receipt the moment they pay, with your name, your numbering and a warm subject line.

Clients like a receipt for their records, and some need one to get reimbursed. Turn this on once and Flourivate sends one after each payment.

Before you start

Steps

  1. Go to Payments > Settings (the last tab). The page opens on Payment routing.
  2. In the list on the left, click Receipts.
  3. Switch on Enable automatic sales receipts for payments. The fields below become editable.
  4. Set the numbering:
    • Title: what the document is called. Defaults to RECEIPT.
    • Receipt prefix: defaults to REC.
    • Receipt start number: defaults to 10001. Each new receipt goes up by one, so the first is REC10001.
  5. Set the sender:
    • From Name: your practice name, for example "Maple & Main Coaching". If left blank, your workspace name is used.
    • From Email: an address on your sending domain. If left blank, your workspace email is used.
  6. Subject: the default is {{receipt.company.name}} Thank you for your recent purchase. Keep the placeholder, which fills in your business name, and adjust the words if you like.
  7. Save the section.

Already numbered receipts somewhere else?

If you're moving from another system, set Receipt start number to one past your last receipt so your numbering doesn't restart.

Other things in Payments settings

The left list also has Taxes, Notifications (Customer Notifications and Team Notifications), Shipping & Delivery, Shipping Origin, Subscriptions, Miscellaneous Charges and Payment Link Customization. Most coaching practices don't need to change these. Ask us before turning on tax collection, so we can check it fits how you're registered.

Check it worked

  • The Receipts toggle is green and your title, prefix and start number are saved.
  • Make a $1 test purchase with a coupon (see Create a discount code). The receipt should arrive from your name with your subject line.

If something's off

  • No receipt arrived: check spam, then check your email is sending. A workspace with no account balance can't send email. See Set up sending email.
  • The receipt shows the wrong business name: set From Name, or update your business name in your workspace settings.
  • You changed the routing settings by accident: see Choose where payments go to check them.
