Find your way around Learning
A quick map of the Learning area, where your courses, community, members and portal settings live, and which parts most practices use.
Learning is where you build everything your clients use in your portal: courses, community, certificates and membership plans. It has a lot of tabs. Most coaching practices use five of them.
Before you start
- Time: 5 minutes.
- You'll need: your user role to include Learning. If it's missing from the sidebar, ask the workspace owner or send us a request.
Where it is
In the sidebar, under EDUCATION, click Learning. It opens on Feed. Across the top are five tabs and two menus:

| Feed | The discussion stream from your community. Post, schedule posts, and set up digest emails. See Post in your community. |
| Classroom | Your courses the way a learner works through them. Good for checking a course before clients see it. See Test your course like a client. |
| Courses | Build and edit courses. See Build a course. |
| Communities | Create and manage your community spaces. See Create your community, channels and first posts. |
| Members | Everyone enrolled in at least one course, with progress and XP. See Manage your course members. |
| Manage (menu) | Setup tools: Access Plans, Portal, Credentials, Leaderboard, Cohorts, Challenges, Certificates and Learning Paths. |
| Admin (menu) | Oversight tools: Moderation, XP Config, Access Rules, Retention, Analytics and Digest Config. |
When you open something from a menu, the menu's label changes to the page you're on (for example Access Plans with a small arrow). Click it to get back to the menu.
What most practices use
- Manage > Portal to brand your portal and invite clients. See Set up your client portal and Invite clients and give them course access.
- Courses to build your program.
- Communities and Feed if you run a group space.
- Members to see who's engaged.
- Manage > Credentials if you give certificates. See Give certificates when clients finish a course.
The extras
These are there when you want them:
- Access Plans: membership tiers that bundle courses, communities and certificates. See Create a membership plan.
- Leaderboard, XP Config and Challenges: points, badges and challenges to encourage participation. See Reward participation with XP, badges and challenges.
- Moderation: review flagged posts. See Keep your community healthy.
- Cohorts and Learning Paths: group clients into a start date, or chain courses in order. We haven't written guides for these yet. Ask us if you'd like to use them.
Check it worked
- The tab you clicked is underlined, and the page address ends in its name, such as
/learning/courses.
If something's off
- You can't find Access Plans, Portal or Credentials: they're in the Manage menu, not tabs.
- You can't find XP settings: they're under Admin > XP Config.
- There's no invite button on Members: invites come from Manage > Portal > Invite to Portal.
- A page says "This page did not finish loading": Flourivate probably updated. Do a hard refresh (hold Shift and click reload).
