Set up your client portal

Last checked October 20, 2026

Name it, brand it, write the welcome, and choose what your clients see when they sign in.

Your client portal is where clients sign in for your courses, community, events and resources. Ten minutes here makes it feel like yours.

Before you start

  • Time: 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Have ready: your logo (PNG, SVG, JPG or WebP, under 500 KB), a small square icon for the browser tab (PNG or ICO, under 200 KB), and your main brand color as a hex code like #B8502F.

Steps

All of these are in Learning > Manage > Portal, in the Branding section.

  1. Portal Logo. Click Replace and upload your logo. It shows on the sign-in page and at the top of every portal page.
  2. Primary Color. Enter your brand color. It's used for buttons and links. Pick a color dark enough for white text to read on it.
  3. Portal Name. What clients see, for example "Maple & Main Circle". Keep it short.
  4. Welcome Message. A few warm lines shown at the top of your clients' Home page after they sign in. Line breaks are kept. Leave it blank to hide it.
  5. Portal Favicon. Click Replace and upload your small icon.

Then, lower on the same page:

  1. Access Control. For most practices, leave Allow Self Registration off (only people you invite or who buy can get in) and Require Email Verification on.
  2. Features. Turn on only what you'll actually use, so the portal feels tidy:

    • Progress Bars, Leaderboard, Certificates
    • Community Features (discussions and comments)
    • Show Events, Show Members, Show Messages

Turning a feature off hides its tab. Nothing is deleted. 8. Click Save Portal Settings.

Give it your own address

Set your portal up at community.yourdomain.com so clients never see a generic link. See Give your client portal its own address.

Check it worked

  • Click Preview Portal. You should see your logo, color and name.
  • Sign in as a test client (invite yourself with a second email address) to see the Welcome Message and the tabs you left on.

If something's off

  • Logo looks tiny or blurry: use a wide logo (about 4 to 1, for example 480 x 120 pixels) with a transparent background, under 500 KB.
  • A tab still shows after you turned it off: click Save Portal Settings, then refresh the portal.
  • Welcome Message doesn't show on the sign-in page: that's by design. It appears on Home after sign-in.
