Invite clients and give them course access
Send a portal invite that sets up your client's login and opens their course the moment they accept.
When you're done, your client gets a branded email, sets a password, and finds the course waiting in your portal.
Before you start
- Your workspace can send email. Invites are emails, so email must be set up and your account must have funds. See Set up sending email.
- The course is published. See Build a course.
- Optional but nice: your portal has its own address. See Give your client portal its own address.
Steps
- Go to Learning > Manage > Portal.
- Under Quick Actions, click Invite to Portal.
- Enter your client's Email Address and Name.
- Under Enroll in courses, tick each course they should get.
- Click Send Invitation. You'll see "Invitation sent!"
Your client gets an email with an Accept Invitation button. They click it, set a password, and land in the portal with the course on their Courses page.
Giving an existing client another course
Send another invite the same way with the new course ticked. Because they already have a login, accepting it just adds the course and takes them to the sign-in page. They use their existing password (or Use email link instead). They won't be asked to set a new one.
Giving a course to several existing clients at once? Use Bulk Enroll on Learning > Courses. See Manage your course members.
If an invite is still pending, inviting the same email again resends it and adds any new courses you ticked. You'll see "Invitation resent".
Check it worked
- Learning > Manage > Portal shows them under Pending invites until they accept, then under Users with an active enrollment.
- After they accept, they appear in Learning > Members, and on the course's Students tab.
If something's off
- "Email not sent" or the invite never arrives: your workspace's email isn't sending, most often because your account balance ran out. See Set up sending email. Also ask your client to check spam and promotions.
- They accepted but don't see the course: the course may still be a draft. Publish it, then have them refresh.
- You want to add them to your community: that isn't part of the invite yet. See Give members access to your community.
About the invite email's look
Invite, sign-in link and password reset emails use your portal's name, logo and brand color as the sender and design (fixed Oct 21, 2026). Replies still go to a Flourivate support address, so add your own contact details in the invite's welcome text or your follow-up email.
