Post, schedule and send a digest in your community
Write text posts, announcements and polls, schedule a month ahead, and send members a digest of what they missed.
A steady rhythm of posts is what keeps a community alive. Flourivate lets you write posts ahead of time and email members a regular digest, so the space keeps moving even on your busiest weeks.
Before you start
- Time: 10 minutes for a post, an hour to schedule a month.
- Your community and channels exist. See Create your community, channels and first posts.
- Your weekly rhythm. See Plan your community before you build it.
Write a post
- Go to Learning > Feed. (You can also post from inside a community: Learning > Communities, open the community, then its Feed tab.)
- Under Start a discussion, choose the type:
- Text for questions, reflections and teaching.
- Announcement for news from you, such as a call date.
- Poll to ask a quick question with options.
- Type in Write a post....
- Choose the channel. All channels posts everywhere, so pick the one channel it belongs in.
- Optional: @ Mention someone to bring them into the conversation.
- Click Post.
Schedule posts ahead
- Write the post as above.
- Click Schedule instead of Post, and pick the date and time.
- To see what's queued, turn on Show scheduled posts in the feed.
Batch your month
Pick one hour at the start of each month to write and schedule your Monday prompts, midweek teaching posts and Friday wins threads. Then your daily job is only replying.
If you post several things quickly and see "Too many requests", wait a minute between posts.
Keep a welcome post pinned
The Start here card at the top of the feed holds pinned onboarding guidance for new members. Keep your welcome and house guidelines there, and update it when anything changes.
Send a digest email
Members who don't log in often still see the highlights by email.
- On Learning > Feed, find Digest & reminders on the right.
- Set Frequency (weekly is a good start), Send time and Day of week. Check the time zone shown.
- To send one right now, click Run automation now. Use this sparingly, because it emails members.
You'll find the same settings under Admin > Digest Config. Digests are emails, so your workspace must be able to send email. See Set up sending email.
Check it worked
- Your post appears in the feed, in the channel you chose.
- Scheduled posts appear when Show scheduled posts is on, and publish at their time.
If something's off
- A post isn't showing: check the channel filter at the top of the feed, and whether it's scheduled.
- No one replies: end posts with one easy, specific question. Mention two or three members by name.
- Members aren't getting the digest: check Frequency is set, your email is sending, and ask them to check spam.
- Members can't see your posts at all: they may not have community access yet. See Give members access to your community.
