Ask clients for reviews
Set your default review message, send a tracked review request by email or text, and see who clicked.
A personal ask at the right moment (after a breakthrough session or at the end of a package) is how most coaches get reviews. Flourivate sends each client a tracked link, so you can see who opened it without chasing anyone.
Before you start
- Time: 10 minutes.
- Your review links are set up. See Set up your review links.
- Email or texting works for the channel you want to use. For texts, the client must have agreed to receive them.
Step 1: Set your default message
- Go to Reputation > Templates.
- Under Channel defaults, pick SMS or Email.
-
Edit the message. Click Use recommended template if you want a starting point. The recommended text message is:
Hi {{contact.first_name}}, thanks for choosing {{business.name}}. If you have a minute, we'd love your feedback: {{review_link}} -
Check the Live preview, which fills in a sample contact, your workspace and the platform.
- Click Save SMS default (or the email equivalent).
Keep {{review_link}} in the message
That's the tracked link to your review page. Without it, clients have nowhere to click.
For email, Recommended starting points has Google Review Request, General Review Request and Feedback Form Request. Use Open visual email builder if you want it in your branded layout.
Make it sound like you
"Sam, it's been a real privilege working with you these three months. If you're up for it, a short review helps other people find this work: {{review_link}}" lands better than a form letter.
Step 2: Send a review request
- Go to Reputation > Requests and click Send Review Request.
- Choose the Recipients.
- Choose the Channel: Email or SMS.
- Choose the Destination: Use smart default (your primary site), Rotate platforms or Choose platform.
- Read the Message and Live Preview. Edit it for this person if you like. Your default stays the same.
- Check the Before you send summary, then click Send Review Request.
Step 3: Follow up
The Requests list shows each request with Contact, Platform, Channel, Source, Clicks and Actions. Badges show progress: delivered, then clicked when they open the link, then reviewed.
- Resend messages the client again. Once is plenty.
- Link and Destination show where that request points.
- Filter with All statuses (Pending, Sent, Clicked, Reviewed, Failed). A delivered request isn't in that list, so use All statuses or search to find it.
- The Feedback tab (Private Feedback) shows private notes from clients who rated below your public threshold, if you turned on private feedback.
Finish the setup checklist
Reputation > Overview shows Reputation setup with five items: add a review platform, choose a primary destination, customize your template, send your first request, and enable private feedback capture. Click the button next to any item without a green tick.
Automatic review requests
The Automation tab has Review Opportunity Settings, off by default. When you turn on Enable review opportunities, client milestones that pass the Readiness score threshold create a review opportunity. They don't send anything by themselves: a workflow has to send the request. If you'd like requests to go out automatically (for example, a week after a client's last session in a package), ask us to help set up the workflow, or see Build your first workflow.
Check it worked
- Your request shows in the Requests list, and Requests Sent goes up by one.
- When the client opens the link, the badge changes to clicked.
If something's off
- A request shows Failed. Filter by Failed, then check the client's email or mobile number. For texts, check they haven't replied STOP.
- You can't pick a platform. Only enabled sites can be chosen. Turn it on in Platforms.
- The client got no link. Your template is missing
{{review_link}}. - Clicks show 0 but the client says they reviewed. They may have gone to the site another way. Check your Google or Facebook page directly; Reputation doesn't import posted reviews yet.
- A client doesn't qualify for an automatic request. They may be within the Request cooldown (days) window, which counts requests you sent by hand too.
