Find out why a text didn't send

Last reviewed October 21, 2026

Track down a text that didn't arrive, read its status and error, and fix the usual causes.

A text can fail at several points: the workflow didn't send it, Flourivate blocked it, or the carrier rejected it. The log tells you which, and usually why.

Before you start

  • Know who the text was for and roughly when it should have gone.

Steps

  1. Go to Phone System > Messaging and look under SMS Activity, or go to Activity and click the SMS or Failed filter.
  2. Find the text by contact or time. If it's not there at all, it was never sent. Check the workflow instead: see Find out why a workflow didn't run.
  3. Read the Status and Reason, then use the table below.
What you see What it usually means What to do
Blocked, opted out The contact replied STOP Don't text them. They can text START to opt back in.
Held at night Quiet Hours is on It sends when quiet hours end
Failed, number can't receive texts A landline or invalid number Call or email instead
Error 30034 The number isn't linked to your approved registration Ask us to check the number is attached to your campaign
Error 30035 The number is still being set up for texting Wait. Removing and re-adding it delays things further.
Error 30033 Your texting campaign is suspended Contact us right away
Error 30022 Sending too fast Space out bulk sends
Error 30023 or 30027 Daily message limit reached Wait for the limit to reset, or ask us about higher limits
Low funds or billing message Usage funds ran low Send us a request and we'll sort it out, then resend
Carrier filtering The message looked like spam Name your business, remove link shorteners, and avoid all-caps or hype

Quick checks for any failed text

  • [ ] Setup > Verification shows SMS send-eligible.
  • [ ] Setup > Messaging says SMS sending is live.
  • [ ] The workflow's Send SMS step has a From Number (or you have a default number on Setup > Connection).
  • [ ] The contact has a mobile number with country code, and gave consent.
  • [ ] Your usage credits have funds.
  • [ ] The message starts with your business name and has a STOP line.

Check it worked

  • Resend to your own mobile. The log shows it as sent, and it arrives.

If something's off

  • The text shows sent but the client says it never came: ask them to check blocked or filtered messages on their phone, and confirm the number with them.
  • Texts from your AI receptionist don't arrive: this is a known problem right now. Have the assistant read web addresses aloud instead. See Set up your AI phone receptionist.
  • Your registration was rejected: see Fix a rejected texting registration.
  • Still stuck: send us the contact, the time and a screenshot of the log row. See Get help.
