Forward calls to your cell
Send calls from your Flourivate number to your mobile always, or only when you're busy, don't answer, or aren't signed in.
Your Flourivate number rings your browser phone only while you have Flourivate open. Forwarding makes sure calls reach your mobile the rest of the time, without giving out your personal number.
Before you start
- Time: about 5 minutes.
- You'll need: a Flourivate number and the mobile number to forward to.
- Forwarded calls use call minutes from your usage credits.
Steps
Create a forwarding rule
- Go to Phone System > Routing & IVR. Call Forwarding Rules is the first section.
- Click New Rule. The Create Forwarding Rule box opens.
- Choose the Source Number (your Flourivate number).
- Enter the Forward To number with + and the country code, for example
+15551234567. - Pick a Condition (see the table below).
- Leave Active on and click Save Rule.
The four conditions:
| Condition | Forwards when |
|---|---|
| Always | Every call, right away |
| Busy | You're already on a call |
| No Answer | Nobody answers within the timeout you set (5 to 120 seconds) |
| Offline | Your browser phone isn't available |
A good setup for most coaches
Use No Answer with about 20 seconds. Calls ring your browser first if you're at your desk, then your cell. If you're rarely at your computer, use Always.
Pause or change a rule
- Use the switch on the rule's row to turn it off without deleting it.
- Click the pencil icon to edit it. Deleting a rule (bin icon) can't be undone.
Route by time of day (optional)
Below forwarding, Smart Call Routing sends calls to different places by schedule, for example business hours. Click New Rule, set a Rule Name, a Priority (lower number wins), a Condition Type such as Business Hours with start and end times and days, then pick a destination under Route To. Today the destinations are voicemail and phone menus (IVR). People and ring groups are listed as coming soon.
Check it worked
- The rule shows in Call Forwarding Rules with Active and its switch on, for example No Answer → your number (20s).
- Call your Flourivate number from another phone, let it ring past the timeout, and check that your mobile rings.
If something's off
- Save Rule is greyed out: fill in both Source Number and Forward To.
- No numbers in Source Number: you need a number first. See Get a phone number for your practice.
- Calls forward immediately: the condition is Always. Edit the rule and choose No Answer.
- The timeout won't save: use a value from 5 to 120 seconds.
- The forwarded call goes to your cell's voicemail: that's your mobile's voicemail picking up. Answer sooner, or shorten your mobile's own ring time.
- A routing rule says "Needs review" and "Unknown destination": edit it and pick a destination under Route To.
- Your AI receptionist answers instead: the number is set to AI answers first. See Set up your AI phone receptionist.
