Stop contacting someone (Do Not Contact)

Last reviewed October 21, 2026

Mark a contact so they don't get emails, texts or calls from you, on every channel or just the ones they asked about.

When someone asks you to stop reaching out, honor it the same day. Marking them Do Not Contact (DND) tells Flourivate which channels to keep quiet on, and keeps their history in place.

Before you start

  • Time: 1 minute.
  • Decide what they asked for: no contact at all, or just no texts, for example.
  • Good to know: this isn't deleting. Their record, sessions and payments stay. If they asked you to delete their data, see If something's off below.

Steps

  1. Go to Contacts and open the person's contact page (the chevron menu at the end of their row > Open contact details).
  2. On the profile card on the left, click the DND tab (next to All Fields and Actions).
  3. Choose what to block:
    • DND All Channels for no contact of any kind, or
    • under OR INDIVIDUAL CHANNELS, tick only what they asked for: Email, Text Messages, Calls & Voicemail, Facebook Messenger or Inbound Calls & SMS.
  4. Click back to All Fields to leave the panel.
  5. Optional: add a note in the Comments tab, like "Asked by phone on Oct 21 to stop texts".

Inbound Calls & SMS

This one blocks the person reaching you by phone or text. Most people asking to unsubscribe only want you to stop messaging them, so leave it unticked unless they asked.

When people opt out on their own

You don't always need to do this by hand. People can unsubscribe using the link in your marketing emails, and replying STOP to a text opts them out of texts. See Collect text consent and handle opt-outs. Check the DND tab if you're unsure where someone stands.

Check it worked

  • Open the DND tab again. The boxes you ticked are still ticked.
  • If you try to email or text them from Flourivate, the message shouldn't go out on a blocked channel.

If something's off

  • You can't find a DND switch: it's a tab on the profile card, not a button at the top of the page.
  • Someone opted out but still got a receipt or booking confirmation: messages about something they bought or booked can still send. Marketing and follow-up messages are the ones DND stops.
  • They asked you to delete their information: open the Consent tab on their contact page. Delete Data removes it permanently. Check you're on the right person first, and keep any records your professional or legal obligations require.
  • They want to hear from you again: untick the channels on the DND tab. Only do this when they've clearly asked.
