See your website traffic and conversions
Find out how many people visit your site, where they come from, which pages work, and how many turn into leads, bookings or buyers.
When you're done, you'll know whether your website is bringing people in, and whether those visitors are filling in forms, booking or buying.
Before you start
- Time: 10 minutes.
- You need: a published website or funnel. Unpublished drafts aren't counted.
- Cookie banner on? If you've turned on the cookie consent banner, visitors who don't click Accept all aren't tracked by outside tools like Google Analytics or Meta Pixel, so those numbers will be lower. See Set up your cookie banner and handle data requests.
Step 1: Traffic, workspace-wide
- Go to Analytics and click Traffic.
- Set the date range.
- Read the cards: Page Views, Form Submissions, Unique Sessions, Published Pages and Conversion Rate.
- Scroll to Traffic Trend (views and submissions over time) and Top Traffic Sources (where visitors came from).
- Keep scrolling for your top pages, top websites and funnels, and where people drop out of a funnel.
Two Conversion Rate cards
The Traffic tab shows two cards both called Conversion Rate, one as a number and one as a percentage. Don't compare them with each other. Compare the same card month to month.
Step 2: Conversions
- Click the Conversions tab.
- Read Page Views, Form Submissions, Leads Created, Bookings, Checkouts and Sessions.
- Hover over Conversion Trend: Last 30 Days to see each day's bookings, checkouts, forms and leads.
This is the tab to check after you launch a new offer or send a newsletter.
Step 3: One website or one funnel
| You want | Go to |
|---|---|
| Page views for one website | Sites > the website's ⋯ > Settings > Analytics |
| Step-by-step drop-off for a funnel | Sites > Funnels > Edit > Stats |
| Revenue and orders for a funnel | Sites > Funnels > Edit > Sales |
Step 4: Which page wins (A/B tests)
You can test two versions of a funnel step against each other. Websites don't have A/B testing; it's for funnels.
- Open the funnel with Edit Funnel and click A/B Testing.
- Create a test: give it a Test Name, set the Traffic Split (50 is an even split) and leave Confidence Level at 95% and Minimum Sample Size at 1000 unless you know better.
- The variant starts as a copy of your original page (Duplicate Control Page). Edit the variant before traffic arrives.
- Check results in Analytics > A/B Tests: views and conversions for Control (A) and Variant (B), plus Sample progress.
Small practices rarely get 1,000 visitors to one page quickly. Run tests on your busiest page, and be patient.
The quieter tabs
Sessions, Heatmaps and Attribution fill in only once visitor recording and tracking have collected enough data. Until then they show messages like No session recordings, No heatmap data yet or No attribution data. That's not an error.
Check it worked
- Visit your own site in a private window, submit a test form, then check Conversions later that day. Your submission is counted.
If something's off
- Page Views is zero: check the page is published and the date range covers your visits.
- Top Traffic Sources is empty: visitors haven't arrived with a known source yet. Widen the range.
- Funnel Stats shows zero but Sales shows orders: they measure different things. Stats counts visits to each step; Sales counts orders.
- A/B test significance shows NaN%: it shows until the test reaches its minimum sample. Keep it running.
