Find your way around Analytics
Which Analytics tab answers which question, how the date range works, and the few tabs most practices actually need.
Analytics has 18 tabs. You don't need most of them. This page tells you which tab answers which question, so you can go straight to the one you need.
Before you start
- Where: sidebar, under ANALYTICS, click Analytics. The page is titled Analytics, "Track performance and insights".
- Nothing here changes your data. Clicking tabs, changing dates and hovering over charts is always safe.
- Revenue isn't in Analytics. It's under Payments > Analytics. See See your bookings and revenue.
Step 1: Pick a tab
The tab row scrolls sideways. Scroll it to reach the later tabs. Executive opens first.
| Your question | Tab | Our guide |
|---|---|---|
| How's the practice doing overall? | Executive, Growth, Top Entities | Read your practice's big picture |
| How many people booked, bought or filled in a form? | Conversions | See your website traffic and conversions |
| Are people visiting my site, and from where? | Traffic | See your website traffic and conversions |
| What's in my pipeline, and what did I win? | Pipeline, Deals, CRM Activity | Read your pipeline and deals numbers |
| Is something unusual happening? | Anomalies | Read your practice's big picture |
| Which page version works better? | A/B Tests | See your website traffic and conversions |
The other tabs (Google Analytics, Feature Usage, Sessions, Heatmaps, Retention, Attribution, Comparison and Learning) are more specialized. Several stay empty until you've had a fair amount of traffic, and that's normal.
Step 2: Set the date range
- Click the date bar under the tabs.
- Choose from Quick select (Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, This month, Last month, This year and more), or pick start and end dates on the calendars.
- Check the bar shows the range you chose.
The date range carries across tabs. Some charts name their own window, like Last 30 Days. Those always show that window.
Step 3: Read the four cards on every tab
Every tab (except Google Analytics) starts with the same four cards:
| Card | Means |
|---|---|
| Total Contacts | Everyone in your contacts. |
| Total Deals | Opportunities in your pipeline. |
| Total Deal Value | The combined value of those deals. |
| Win Rate | The share of deals marked won. |
The ⓘ next to the Analytics heading opens a short guide to the page.
Check it worked
- The tab you clicked is highlighted, and the date bar shows your range.
If something's off
- Everything is zero: widen the date range. A new workspace has little to show for the first few weeks.
- You can't see a tab: scroll the tab row sideways.
- You don't see Analytics in the sidebar: your role may not include it. See Why a page or setting is missing.
